With the objective of maintaining high quality standards, protecting products originating from specific territories, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices that foster biodiversity, the CORICOOP Cooperative and several of its associated farms have achieved ISCC PLUS, Piedmont Hazelnut PGI (including Piedmont Hazelnut PGI of the Langhe), and Organic certifications.
ISCC Plus
In the summer of 2022, CORICOOP achieved the ISCC PLUS Certification. This represents the very first case in the world of an ISCC-certified hazelnut supply chain—a milestone that the Cooperative is immensely proud of, and one that drives the development of further ongoing research projects in the field of agricultural sustainability. Coricoop chose this voluntary international certification to guarantee sustainability, full traceability, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Piedmont Hazelnut PGI & Piedmont Hazelnut PGI of the Langhe
In Piedmont, the Tonda Gentile Trilobata hazelnut variety has been officially recognised by the Protection Consortium as a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) product. This designation protects a product originating from a specific geographical area, where all production phases take place, and to which its unique premium characteristics are attributed.
Organic Certification (Bio)
Several associated farms dedicate themselves daily to cultivating hazelnuts sustainably while safeguarding biodiversity, supplying high-quality hazelnuts derived exclusively from organic farming.
