Members

Joining Coricoop means becoming a member of a modern cooperative, deeply oriented toward improving hazelnut cultivation techniques and promoting environmental sustainability.

Coricoop was founded to provide its commercial partners with high-quality products backed by full traceability, adding value to agricultural production while supporting the entrepreneurial growth of its members.

Member Categories: Co-operator Members and Supporting Members

According to Coricoop’s Articles of Association, members are divided into two distinct categories based
on the relationship established with the cooperative:

  • Co-operator Members (Art. 5 of the OP Coricoop Articles of Association): This category is open to agricultural producers and entrepreneurs—both individuals and legal entities—who are actively engaged in hazelnut cultivation. A specific sub-category within this group is the Special Member (Art. 6), designed for a gradual integration into the cooperative’s membership base, with the Board of Directors determining the duration of this status.
  • Supporting Members (Art. 15 of the OP Coricoop Articles of Association): In accordance with Art. 4 of Italian Law No. 59 of 31/01/1992, both individuals and legal entities can be admitted to this category to help support and achieve the cooperative’s corporate and social goals.

The Benefits of Joining

Agronomic Technical Assistance

Coricoop provides its members with a dedicated agronomic technical assistance service. The goal is to keep members constantly updated on weather patterns, crop phenology, phytosanitary issues, protection strategies, and agronomic advice through the issuance of technical notes and bulletins. In collaboration with research institutions, Coricoop also organises training days to transfer key orchard management and pest control strategies directly to its members.

Price Premium

To reward the dedication and hard work of its associated growers, Coricoop guarantees a higher payment for hazelnuts compared to
the free-market price.

Operational Programme

It grants access to European Union financial aid, enabling the cooperative to purchase and provide innovative machinery and
services directly to its members.

Environmental Sustainability

Coricoop is home to the first hazelnut supply chain in the world to be certified ISCC PLUS. Achieved in 2022, this certification distinguishes the final product for its environmental sustainability. Furthermore, in 2025, Coricoop created an agrobiodiversity area featuring over 300 trees and shrubs at the Cascina di Monteoliveto in Cortemilia, the headquarters of the Ecomuseum of Terraces and Vines.

Product Traceability

By joining the OP Coricoop, farms enable full traceability across the entire production chain, guaranteeing comprehensive lot-by-lot information to commercial partners. Additionally, Coricoop works closely with its commercial partners to collaborate and draft tailored production protocols based on specific market requirements.

Research & Development

Coricoop participates in various research projects aimed at providing its members with new, alternative pest control strategies that surpass traditional techniques and offer greater environmental sustainability.
